What counts as a unit?
Every active unit on every property counts once, including a unit you live in yourself and any unit that is currently empty. Those still take a share of each bill — SplitDue calculates their portion and assigns it to you rather than pushing it onto your tenants, which is what keeps the tenant shares defensible.
Archived units do not count. If you sell a building or take units out of service, archive them and your count drops. Properties, utilities, utility bills, tenant bills, and PDFs are unlimited on every plan, so a fourplex that bills five utilities monthly costs the same as one that bills water once a year.

Billing questions
- Do I need a credit card to start the trial?
- Yes. You pick a plan and enter a card to begin the 14-day trial, but you are not charged until the trial ends. Cancel any time before then from the billing page and you pay nothing.
- What counts as a unit?
- Every unit you have on a property, including your own if you live in one and any that are currently vacant, because SplitDue still calculates and absorbs their share of each bill. Archived units do not count. Properties, utilities, bills, and PDFs are unlimited on every plan.
- What happens if I go over my unit limit?
- Nothing breaks and nothing is deleted. You will be prompted to move up a plan before adding more units. You can change plan at any time from the billing page.
- Can I switch between monthly and annual?
- Yes, from the billing page at any time. Annual works out to roughly 20% off: the Growth plan is $19 a month or $182 a year. Changes are prorated by Stripe.
- What happens if I cancel?
- You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. After that the account becomes read-only: your properties, bills, and tenant bill history stay intact and you can still read and export them, but you cannot generate new bills until you resubscribe.
