What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash).
- Property and billing data you enter: property addresses, unit details, tenant names and contact details you choose to record, utility bill amounts, and the tenant bills generated from them.
- Subscription data: your Stripe customer ID and subscription status. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Technical data: IP address and browser information in server logs and session records, used for security.
- Usage analytics: if analytics is enabled, Google Analytics records pages visited, approximate location (derived from IP, not stored by us), device and browser type, and a few product events such as creating an account or starting a trial. This is aggregate usage measurement. We never send your tenants' names, addresses, bill amounts, or any data you enter about a property to Google.
How we use it
To provide the Service, to send transactional emails (verification, password reset, billing notices), to prevent abuse, and to improve the product. We do not sell personal data and we do not use tenant information for any purpose other than producing your bills.
Tenant information
You may enter names and contact details of your tenants so they appear on bills. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so. Tenants do not have accounts with SplitDue; if a tenant asks about their data, contact us and we will help you respond.
Where data lives
Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway in the United States. Each customer's records are tagged with their account and every query is restricted to that account.
Service providers
Railway (hosting and database), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and Google Analytics (usage measurement, when enabled). Each processes data only as needed to provide their service to us.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can archive properties and units at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, contact support@splitdue.com; deletion is completed within 30 days.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. When analytics is enabled we also set Google Analytics cookies, which measure how the site is used and let us tell whether an advertisement led to a signup. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use these cookies to build advertising profiles or to track you across unrelated websites. You can block them with your browser's cookie settings or a tracker blocker without affecting the app.
